What are Batches? The steps of adding Batches Reception Processing

 

What are Batches?

Batches are defined as the amounts of unprocessed coffee that are received from suppliers, intended for subsequent processing.

The steps of adding Batches

By following the steps below you can add Batches: 

You need to create at least one Process before you can begin Adding Batches.

 
  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar. 
  2. Navigate to Origin on the main menu bar. 
  3. Select Batches.
  4. Click on the dropdown next to Add on the top right side of the page.
  5. Select Batch. 
  6. You will be directed to the Add batch page. 
  7. By clicking on Customize on the top right side of the page you can select what information you would like to capture. Select the checkboxes next to the relevant information to include it in your view. Confirm it with the green Save button. 
  8. From this point, adding a batch requires the following steps:
    • Reception
    • Processing

Reception

Enter the following information about the unprocessed coffee you are receiving:

  1. If you manage more than one mill, select the Mill at which the coffee will be processed.
  2. Select the Reception date when the coffee arrived at the mill.
  3. Select the Varieties of coffee being delivered. (Optional).
  4. Select the Supplier type who is delivering coffee (Community, Farm, Field or Picker)
  5. Click on + Add supplier.
  6. Type to search for the Supplier name, and select one from the list.
  7. Type the Weight of coffee the supplier is delivering.
  8. Choose the Unit the amount of coffee is measured with.
  9. Click on + Add supplier again as many times as necessary (Optional). 
  10. By clicking on Next you will be directed to the Processing page. 

If you wish to include further specifications where the coffee comes from, use the Additional traceability section.

 

Processing

Enter the following information about the coffee that you are processing:

  1. Choose a Received state (Cherry, Dry cherry, Parchment, Wet parchment or Wet green).
  2. Select the Process that describes how the coffee will be processed.
  3. Indicate other details about the batch using the Customize menu, such as Pile or Project (Optional).
  4. Add any additional Parts if you wish to use a different process for some of the coffee (Optional).
  5. Click on Create batch to submit.
