Why use the Coffee separation modes? Setting up the Coffee separation modes The methods of Coffee separation Separation by weight Separation by percent Separation by supplier

Why use the Coffee separation modes?

Coffee separation is an optional feature.

This feature allows you to divide the delivered coffee into separate categories, enabling you to categorize a single coffee delivery based on specific quality standards.

For instance, if your wet mill employs a mechanical separator, it can effectively distinguish between floaters and unripe cherries from the ripe cherries. This separation allows for each category to be monitored individually through batch tracking.

Setting up the Coffee separation modes

By following the steps below you can easily set up the Coffee separation modes:

  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar.
  2. Navigate toSettings on the top right side of the page.
  3. Select Origin settings.
  4. Select the Processing tab on the top left side of the page.
  5. Navigate to the Coffee separation section.
  6. You can select between the following separation modes:
    • No separation
    • Separation by weight
    • Separation by percent
    • Separation by supplier
  7. Navigate to the Quality format section. By selecting the dropdown menu, you can opt for one of the following formats:
    • All
    • Cherry Ripeness
    • Export/Local
    • Primary/Secondary
    • Superior/Inferior
    • Letter
    • Number
  8. Click on Save settings to submit.

The methods of Coffee separation

There are three ways to separate your coffee:

  1. Separation by weight
  2. Separation by percent
  3. Separation by supplier

You can also select the "No separation" option.
Select this option if you receive coffee, but you will record only one weight.

You need to specify the necessary information for your Batches:

  • Quality
  • Price per unit
  • Process: You need to define at least one Process before you can set one for your parts.
  • Pile
  • Project

Separation by weight

Select this method if you will weigh and record each part separately.

You need to specify the necessary information for your Batches:

  • Process per part: You need to define at least one Process before you can set one for your parts.
  • Pile per part
  • Project per part

Separation by percent

Select this method, if you take a sample to estimate the percentage of each part.

You need to specify the necessary information for your Batches:

  • Default number of parts each batch should be separated into, by clicking + Add part.
  • Quality per part
  • Price per unit per part
  • Process per part: You need to define at least one Process before you can set one for your parts.
  • Estimated percentage per part: Make sure to add them up to 100%.
  • Pile per part

Separation by supplier

Select this method, if your suppliers deliver coffee already separated into parts.
