Further information

  •  The Link Sample Roaster provides measurement values only during an active roast, as well as during the pre-heating and cooling-down phase. No measurements are provided between batches.
  •  The Nucleus Link integration supports the Auto-start feature. Roasting Intelligence will start and stop tracking measurement values automatically when the roast is started/stopped on the Link Sample Roaster. 
  • The Nucleus Link Sample Roaster produces roast curves that are not suitable to be used with the temperature-based auto-start and end feature.


Roasting Intelligence Setup

Installing the Roasting Intelligence software 

  1. Download the custom version of Roasting Intelligence depending on your computer's operating system. 
  2. Complete the installation process by following the steps provided.
  3. Double-click the Cropster icon on your desktop to access Roasting Intelligence. 
  4. Click the green Login with the browser button. You will be directed to the C-sar browser. 
  5. Enter your Username* and Password* and click the green Sign in with password button. Use the same credentials that you use to access the online platform C-sar.


Establishing a connection to the machine

Important details to keep in mind:

  • Before you start configuring your roast machine, ensure that you have added it via the online platform C-sar.
  • Only click Save after you've completed all settings in Roasting Intelligence.
 

 

  1. SelectPreferences > Machine > Configuration.
  2. To choose the Roast machine, click on the dropdown menu in the Machine section.
  3. Click the + Add connector option to choose your connector from the dropdown list.
  4. Select Nucleus Link.
  5. Click Select to add the connector.
     
  6. Click theGear icon in the Connector setup section.
  7. Select the Serial port of the connected roast machine.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Navigate to the Machine > Measurements tab. All supported measurements will be displayed.
  10. To activate the measurements, simply click the green toggle button.
  11. Enable the desired measurements and Nucleus Link as the connector type.
  12. (Optional) Change the order of the measurements by using theDrag and Drop icon and move it into position.
  13. Click Save to finalize the changes.
  14. Restart Roasting Intelligence. If the setup was successful, you will see the temperature values displayed on the right-hand side of the screen following the restart.

Troubleshooting

If Roasting Intelligence indicates No source connected and/or you cannot see any measurements, please check the following: 

  • Is the roast machine connected to the computer? 
  • Is the correct serial port within the Roasting Intelligence selected?
