Adding a new machine

By following the steps below, you can easily add a new roast machine:

1. Log in to the online platform C-sar.
2. Navigate to the Gear icon on the top right side of the page. 
3. Select Machines. You will be directed to the Machines overview page.
4. Click on +Add new machine on the top right side of the page. 
   
5. Click on the dropdown to select or enter the name of the Machine manufacturer. The list of available Machine manufacturers may not display all options. To find more manufacturers, begin typing the name you are looking for to refine the list.
6. Enter the following details:
   * indicates mandatory fields 
   • *Machine type
   • *Machine model
   • Custom machine name: You can give a unique name here to identify the machine in case you have multiple machines from the same model.
   • * Machine capacity: You can select from three different weight units by clicking on the dropdown for the weight unit.
   • * Location
   • * Usage: You need to choose between the Production roaster and Sample roaster. Sample roaster is only available for Professional and higher tiers. 
7. Click Create machine.
8. The step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of connecting your roast machine to Roasting Intelligence (RI). 
   
9. Review the supported measurements in the relevant manual by clicking on View manual in the Setup manuals section.
10. By clicking on the Edit icon, you can add the Supported measurements & controls to your roast machine. 
11. Click Update machine to finalize the changes.

Start roasting

Before you can begin the roasting process, please ensure that you complete the following steps:

1. Log in to Roasting Intelligence (RI).
2. Navigate to the Preferences > Machine > Configuration tab.
3. Select the Machine by clicking on the dropdown in the Roasting Machine section. 
4. Navigate to the Connector setup section. Choose your connector from the available options by clicking the +Add connector button. In some cases, the connector for your roast machine may be configured automatically once you select the roast machine from the dropdown list.
5. Begin typing the name of the connector or select the appropriate option from the list displayed.
6. Click Select. 
   
7. Navigate to the Machine > Measurements tab. All supported measurements will be displayed here. To activate the measurements, simply click the green toggle button.
8. Select the relevant connector from the dropdown at each measurement. Make your measurement readouts more compact. Choose the size of your measurement readouts by selecting either the Small or Large view for display.
9. Change the order of the measurements by using theDrag and Drop icon and move it into position.
10. Click Save to finalize the changes. 
    
11. Navigate back to the Machine > Configuration tab. Click on theGear icon next to the connector in the Connector setup section to open and configure more settings.
12. If your machine supports additional controls, please follow the same workflow to add them via the Machine > Controls tab. 

Adding a new machine type

If you choose 'Other' as the Machine Manufacturer, you will need to define the specific type of roast machine you want to add.

1. Enter the following details:
   * indicates mandatory fields
   • *Machine Manufacturer
   • Custom machine name
   • *Machine capacity: By clicking on the dropdown, you can select the unit.
   • *Location
   • *Usage
     • Production roaster
     • Sample roaster 
2. Click on Create machine. 
3. A member of our Customer Success team will be in touch with you within the next business day to assist you with setting up your roast machine. 

Editing the machine details

By completing the steps below, you can easily edit the details of your roast machine: 

1. Log in to the online platform C-sar.
2. Navigate to theGear icon on the top right side of the page. 
3. Select Machines. You will be directed to the Machines overview page.
4. Click the Edit button on the right side of the page.
   
5. You will be directed to the Edit Machine page.  To change the Machine Manufacturer, type, or model, you need to delete the machine and add a new machine. 
   
6. You can edit the following details:
   • *Machine capacity: You can also easily modify this detail in case you need to adjust the batch size limit for your machine.
   • *Location
   • *Usage
   • Custom machine name
7. By clicking on +Add measurement, you have the option to choose the specific measurements that are relevant to your roast machine. The measurements will appear in this order in Roasting Intelligence (RI). 
8. To remove a measurement, simply click on the "x" next to the measurement you wish to delete.
9. Click Update machine to finalize the changes. 

Deleting the machine

By following the steps below, you can easily delete the machine via the following pages: 

• Via the Machines overview page
• Via the Details page

Via the Machines overview page

1. Click the Delete button on the right side of the Machines overview page , and you can delete the selected machine.
2. Before confirming the deletion, a warning message will appear with the following text:
   
3. If you are certain that you wish to delete the machine, confirm by clicking on the Delete button.

Via the Details page

1. Click the Name of the roast machine you want to remove from the Machines overview page.
2. You will be directed to the Details page. 
3. Click the Delete button on the right side of the Details page. 
   
4. Before confirming the deletion, a warning message will appear with the following text written above. 
5. If you are certain that you wish to delete the machine, confirm by clicking on the Delete button.

Congratulations! You are now ready to add a new roast machine.
