Phidget driver installation Windows Mac Troubleshooting

The Phidget driver (or Phidget Control Panel) is required to establish a connection to your roast machine with the help of a Cropster Connector (i.e. Phidget 1048, or Phidget 1046), any other Phidgets devices (e.g. VINT Hub).

Phidget driver installation

The Phidget driver can be installed directly from the Phidget website. You can also install it for Windows or macOS operating systems from the provided installation links further below.

Windows

Install the Phidget driver from:

  • 32-bit installer download
  • 64-bit installer download

Navigate to This PC > Downloads and open the .exe file.

Continue with the installation steps as described below:

  1. The Phidget22 Libraries Setup Wizard will open up. Click Next.
  2. Check the I Agree checkbox once you are ready to continue with the installation.
  3. Choose the location where you want to install the RI and click Next.
  4. Click Next to run the installation.
  5. Close the Phidget22 Setup Wizard.
  6. Once the installation is complete, the Phidget control panel will be launched.
  7. Close the Phidget control panel.
  8. Disconnect your data bridge from the computer and reconnect it.

Mac

Install the Phidget driver from: Installer download for Mac OS X 10.11+

Navigate to Finder () > Downloads and open the dmg. file.

Open the Phidgets.pkg file to launch the installer. Continue with the installation steps as described below:

  1. The Phidget22 Installer will open up.
  2. Click Continue.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Click Continue once you are ready to continue with the installation.
  5. Click Install.
  6. Input your user profile credentials, then click Install.
  • MacOS 10.13+: If your computer is running on MacOS (10.13.X and higher), and you are installing the Phidget driver for the first time, MacOS requires you to explicitly allow the Phidget driver's installation. Follow the steps provided by the Phidget 22 Installer (highlighted below), then close it.
  1. When the installation is complete, disconnect your data bridge from the computer and reconnect it.

Troubleshooting

RI displays "No Sources connected."

  • Is the Cropster Connector connected to the computer?
  • (MacOS 10.13+) Has the Phidgets driver been enabled in the Mac's Security & Privacy settings?
  • (MacOS 10.15+) Try installing Phidget Control Panel Standalone.
  • Is the Phidget control panel, or another roast-profiling software, open (e.g., Artisan)?

The Roasting Intelligence (RI) cannot access the Phidget when other applications are already accessing it. Close the Phidget control panel, and/or any other roast-profiling software. Please then close and reopen the RI.

No temperatures on the RI

Multi-barrel setup
The application doesn't display temperatures when started with the multi-barrel script, but does when the RI is started normally.
Learn how to troubleshoot a multi-barrel setup that doesn't display temperatures.
