Creating a blend within the Order Fulfillment process is exclusive to Commerce users. To upgrade, contact our Customer Success Team at hello@cropster.com.

Creating blends via the Post-roast blend overview or the Roasts overview page remains available for Roast users as well. 

 

 

Overview 

This article introduces the Blending tab in Order Fulfillment (OF), showing how to easily create blends to fulfill open orders. It also explains inventory logic and manual blending options for Roast users as well.

Creating a Blend in Order Fulfillment

 

This section applies to Commerce users. 

 

 

  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar.
  2. Navigate to Commerce > Order Fulfillment.
  3. Click on the ID tag of the Order Fulfillment to access the Order Fulfillment details page.
  4. Navigate to the Blending tab within the Order Fulfillment process.
    The table displays the following information:
    • Blend profile: Every blend profile that is part of the order. 
    • Net requirement
    • Scheduled packaging
    • Minimum stock level
    • On-hand
  5. Locate the Blend profile you need to create and click the Add blend button.
  6. You will be directed to the Add blend page.
  7. (Optional) Modify the selected roasts, adjust weight values, or add all available roast inventory.

 

  1. Click Create blend. Once the required blends are created, the Blending profile status on the Blending tab will update to Completed. 
     

⚠️ Important notes:

  • Location matching: The Available to blend total reflects inventory across all locations. Because you can only blend roasts within the same location, ensure the selected roasts are physically on-site.
  • Smart pre-fill: The system pre-selects the oldest roasts globally. If a pre-selected roast is in a different warehouse, manually swap it for a roast in your current location. 
  • Inventory filter: All blend-related numbers are based on the 90-day Commerce inventory filter. 
 



Creating a Blend via the Roast overview page

 

This section mainly applies to Roast users. 
Commerce users can also follow these steps to create a blend manually in C-sar outside of an Order fulfillment.

 

 

⚠️ For Commerce users:

Manually creating blends without an associated Blend profile will not increase your usable inventory, meaning that stock cannot be allocated to fulfill orders.

 

 

  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar.
  2. Navigate to Roasts on the main menu bar and switch to the Post-roast blends tab.
  3. Click on the +Add blend button on the top right side of the page.
     
  4. Switch to the ‘With post-roast blend profile’ option.
  5. Select the *Post-roast blend profile.
  6. Enter the following details:
    * Indicates mandatory fields
    • *Blend name
    • *Date
    • *Time
    • *Roasts
    • *Weight in blend
    • Blend notes
    • Project
  7. (Optional) Click Create & Add new to submit the current blend and start another without leaving the page.
  8. Click Create blend to submit. 

 
FAQs

Can I blend more coffee than needed for orders?
Yes. Once marked as blended, the On-hand inventory increases and is available for future orders.

Why is a new blend profile not appearing for an "In Progress" order fulfillment?
To update a Blend profile for an existing order, you must archive the current Order Fulfillment and create a new one. The system only pulls updated profile data during the creation process.

 

How do I blend a full batch quantity instead of just the ordered amount?
Click Add all available weight on the Create a blend page. If necessary, select additional batches to reach your target quantity.

 

Why are some available roasts missing when I create a blend via the Order Fulfillment process?
To optimize performance, the system only displays roasts from the last 90 days. To access roasts older than 90 days, create the blend manually via the Create a blend page.
