This roast machine is currently connectable to Cropster using a Generic Modbus connector.

This means that we have limited experience with this particular roast machine. The manufacturer has not yet officially confirmed these setup instructions. Therefore, the configuration described in this article may not be applicable across the entire model range.

Once the connection is established, you may encounter some minor flaws in daily use. It will be necessary to share such feedback with us, so please let us know if you experience any unexpected behaviour.

We will be happy to assist in resolving any issues you may encounter or propose alternative connection options.

Troubleshooting

If Roasting Intelligence indicates No source connected and/or you cannot see any measurements, please check the following:

  • Is the roast machine connected to the computer?
  • Have you downloaded the driver for the USB serial converter?
  • Is the correct serial port within Roasting Intelligence selected?

If you select a serial port in Roasting Intelligence and the application confirms "Sources connected" but still shows no live temperature readouts, the selected serial port is likely not the one corresponding to the roast machine.

Driver for the USB serial converter

Failure to select the correct serial port suggests that the appropriate serial converter driver is not installed on your computer.

Please reach out to support.cropster.com, and attach the following information relevant to the USB serial converter used:

  • Brand and model
  • Serial number
  • Picture of the serial converter
  • Roasting Intelligence log files

Your submitted information will be assessed by a Cropster representative, who will then assist you by supplying the necessary driver for your USB serial converter.

If you have further questions, feedback, or concerns, please submit a support ticket directly from support.cropster.com.
