Overview

This article introduces the SKUs and provides valuable tips on how to utilize them.

SKU numbers, also known as Stock Keeping Units, are unique codes assigned to products to help retailers accurately track and manage their inventory.

Why use SKUs?

The link between the products available in your online store and your Cropster account is forged by using unique SKU numbers.

Utilizing SKUs allows for efficient tracking and management of inventory, enabling you to accurately monitor your stock levels and streamline operations.

  • Inventory Management: SKU tracking allows for precise location monitoring, which optimizes stock levels and minimizes waste.
  • Order Fulfillment: SKUs enable precise, high-speed order fulfillment. Assigning unique SKUs helps identify sales trends and top-performing products for better decision-making.

Instructions

Generating SKUs for integrated shop products

Before mapping your products in Cropster, assign SKUs to each of your Product variants in your online store:

  • Shopify
  • WooCommerce

Generating SKUs for manually added products

In case you don't have a shop integration set up, you need to manually add products and then product variants via the online platform C-sar.

  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar.
  2. Navigate to Commerce > Products.
  3. Click +Add new product.
  4. Enter the following details:
    * Indicates mandatory fields.
    • *Name
    • Cropster Product ID
    • Type
    • *Profile group
    • Notes
  5. Click Create product.
  6. Select the Product name on the Products overview page.
  7. Click +Add product variant on the Variants tab.
  8. Enter the SKU for each product variant.

Best practices

  1. Define a standardized structure for your SKU codes that aligns with your individual requirements, e.g., you might include codes for the coffee type.
  2. Simplify your SKU codes to easily understand their meaning and identify products quickly.
  3. Use the identical SKU across multiple stores if the final product is the same.
  4. Consistently review and revise SKUs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

💡 Tips and Recommendations:

If your product is available in multiple stores with matching SKUs, the mapping process will be simplified when using Cropster.
