Overview
This article explains how to view the Between Batch Protocol (BBP) data during post-roast analysis via the online platform C-sar.
Instructions
Viewing Between-Batch Protocol data via the Roast overview page
- Log in to the online platform C-sar.
- Navigate to the Roast section on the main menu bar. You will be directed to the Roasts overview page.

Select the roast's ID tag to open the Roast details page.

- Scroll down to the Roasting curves section.

Navigate to the Display tab on the right. Check the Show Between Batch data on charts checkbox to view BBP statistics.

(Optional) Check the Between-Batch RoR to activate the Rate of Rise data.
⚠️ Enabling “Between-Batch data” will adjust the chart's scale, as BBP Rate of Rise (RoR) ranges differ significantly from active roast ranges.

If the Roast compare feature is unavailable to you, you may need a subscription upgrade. Please review our pricing plans and contact our Customer Success Team for assistance.
- Log in to the online platform C-sar.
- Navigate to Roasts on the main menu bar. You will be directed to the Roasts overview page.

Select the checkbox next to each batch you wish to compare and click Compare roasts.

Use the Between-Batch Protocol dropdown menu to customize which roast statistics are displayed.

Time between batches |
Measured by the Between-Batch Timer, this metric tracks the time elapsed between the end of one roast and the beginning of the next roast. |
Gas/Airflow changes (at specific Bean Temperature/Time) |
The recorded percentage value, along with the timestamp of when it was registered, and the corresponding Bean Temperature at that moment, are key data points to track during the roasting process. |
The lowest temperature |
This includes the minimum temperature recorded during the downtime between batches, along with the timestamp indicating when the temperature was registered. |
The highest temperature |
Including the maximum temperature achieved during the recorded time between batches, along with a timestamp indicating when the temperature was registered. |
Time to reach Start Temperature after the last gas change |
The time taken to reach the starting temperature of the next roast after the last gas adjustment is made and recorded. |
