Overview 

This article explains how to use Cafe Radar in Cropster Cafe. Cafe Radar is a customizable dashboard designed to monitor and analyze the quality of production and performance of espresso machines across various locations. 

It turns data from all your connected machines into easy-to-read Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), giving you instant, actionable insights into your daily operations

Exploring your Cafe Radar
 

⚠️  Cafe Radar only displays espresso machines that have recorded brews within your selected date range.

 

 

  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar.
  2. Navigate to Cafe > Radar.
  3. Select your Date Range (1)  or filter for specific Machines (2).
    💡 Your dashboard automatically remembers your Date range, Machine filters, and KPI layout. Next time you log in, your personalized view loads instantly instead of the default.
       
     

💡 Tips and Recommendations:

Check Save as default to ensure the dashboard always opens to your default view.

 

 

Understanding the KPI cards

Cafe Radar offers five distinct types of KPI cards, each designed to provide specific insights into espresso machine performance and production metrics.

  1. Brew activity
  2. Brews in/out of range
  3. Change of brews in/out of range
  4. Number of brews (daily average)
  5. Change in number of brews 

Type 

Details 

Brew activity 

Brew activity indicates the count of machines that have not recorded any brews within the last X hours, calculated from the conclusion of the selected timeframe.

This KPI follows the selected timeframe, so it’s not a ‘current’ view unless the timeframe is ‘Today’. The badge does show ‘currently online. ’

Brews in/out of range

You can choose from two distinct options to display on this specific KPI Card: 

  1. Machines with the highest % of brews in/out of range.
  2. Machines with % of brews in/out of range higher than.

Change in brews in/out of range

You can choose from two distinct options to display on this specific KPI Card: 

  1. Machines with the highest increase in brews in/out of range.
  2. Machines with the highest decrease in brews in/out of range.

Brew production

You can choose from four distinct options to display on this specific KPI Card: 

  1. Highest brew production.
  2. Brew production is higher than.
  3. Lowest brew production.
  4. Brew production is lower than.

Change in brew production

You can choose rom four distinct options to display on this specific KPI Card: 

  1. Highest brew production increase.
  2. Brew production increases higher than.
  3. Highest brew production decrease.
  4. Brew production increases higher than. 


Adding new KPI cards

The initial setup of Cafe Radar for every user features a set of predefined KPI cards, which provide essential insights at a glance:

  • Machines with no brews in the past >12 hours, as a table
  • Machines with >30% brews out of range, as the table
  • Machines with >25% production decrease, as a table
  • Machines with the highest % of brews out of range, as a chart
  • Machines with the highest increase in brews out of range, as a chart
  • Machines with the highest brew production, as a chart
  • Machines with the highest increase in brew production, as a chart

 

  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar
  2. Navigate to Cafe > Radar.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click +Add KPI on the right.
  4. A customizable KPI card will appear. Select the following details:
    • KPI card type
    • Show machines with: Available options per KPI type.
    • Show the most affected machines as:
      • Table
      • Chart 
  5. Click Submit.


Editing your KPI cards
 

  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar
  2. Navigate to Cafe > Radar.
  3. Locate the KPI card you wish to edit. 
  4. Click  "..." (More) on the selected KPI card.
  5. Select Edit.
  6. Edit the following details:
    • KPI card type
    • Show machines with
    • Show the most affected machines as:
      • Table
      • Chart 
  7. Click Submit. 


Deleting your KPI cards
 

  1. Locate the KPI card you wish to delete. 
  2. Click  "..." (More) on the selected KPI card.
  3. Select Delete.
    ⚠️ Selecting delete will immediately remove the KPI card. No additional confirmation is required.

 

Navigating to the Espresso machines overview table

Scroll to the bottom of the Cafe Radar to find the 'Your machines' table for a full breakdown of your espresso machines:

  • Status (online/offline)
  • Location 
  • Model 
  • Last brew
  • Brew production 
  • Change in production
  • Brews out of range%
  • Change in brews out of range
  • Brews in range%
  • Change in brews in range

The default view is set to ‘Last brew’. Use the table header arrows for custom sorting. 
💡 Scroll to the right to view all the columns in the table.
