Introducing the two LED States

The following two built-in features are designed to assist you with troubleshooting by indicating warnings or errors:

  1. The LED lights on the BrewBeacon hardware.
  2. The BrewBeacon Settings page for connection.

In normal operation, the BrewBeacon displays information about its current state with the following two status LEDs.

LED I

It provides information about the general system state and also displays three general device states:

  1. Operational and connected
  2. Setup required
  3. Error detected

LED I

Description

Action required

ON

Operational and connected.

❌

Flashing very fast at boot

Boot sequence

Wait for 2 seconds after turning on the device.

If the device keeps flashing fast and never reaches a state of slowly flashing or steadily on LED1, this indicates an insufficient power supply. Power the device from a stable external USB power source.

Flashing slowly

Setup required

Finish setting up the BrewBeacon.

Flashing fast

Error detected

A continuously flickering LED1 indicates an insufficient or unstable power supply. If the device is being powered from the espresso machine, try supplying external USB power. If already using an external power supply, check it within the specs.

On some espresso machines, all flow meters need to be connected to deliver sufficient power to the device.

Depending on the system state, LED II displays additional information.

Wiring error (Flow Meter activity on group n while EMC sees Solenoid activity on any other input group).
