Why does my roast curve flatline
This article explains reasons why your roast may be flatlining and how to prevent it from happening in the future.
We have observed several roast curves where the temperature readings temporarily drop during the roasting process, only to resume as if no interruption occurred.
This results in a strange peak and valley in the RoR (Rate of Rise):

This can happen for a few reasons:
- Your computer has gone to sleep during a roast (most common)
- Your data bridge is too hot
- Your USB is removed from the roaster
- Your computer is overheating
- If your computer is going to sleep during a roast, you can change the display time out time to something longer than your roast time.
