Overview

This article explains how to set the roast chart axes.

Instructions

  1. Log in to Roasting Intelligence.
  2. Navigate to Preferences on the bottom left side of the screen, and select Roasting > Charts and comments.
  3. Let's review both axes and what they represent:
    • X-axis: The X-axis shows the length of the roast chart in terms of roast duration in minutes.
By clicking the Time field, you can adjust the time.
    • Y-axis: The Y-axis shows the temperature scale.
By clicking the Minimum and Maximum fields, you can adjust the minimum and maximum temperatures.
The same applies to the Rate of Rise (RoR); by clicking the Minimum and Maximum fields, you can adjust the minimum and maximum values of RoR.
  4. Once you have entered the values for both axes, click Save to finalize the changes.

Tips and Recommendations

  • It's best to keep your X-axis range longer than your roast duration. Going past that range may cause issues.
  • Please keep in mind that the minimum and maximum values of Rate of Rise will be affected by the Time expression setting.
  • We recommend setting the Maximum Temperature based on the hottest temperature measurement monitored from your roasting chart.
  • We recommend setting the Minimum Temperature based on the lowest Bean temperature.
