Table of Contents
Overview
This article explains how to set the roast chart axes.
Instructions
- Log in to Roasting Intelligence.
-
Navigate to
Preferences on the bottom left side of the screen, and select Roasting > Charts and comments.
-
Let's review both axes and what they represent:
-
X-axis: The X-axis shows the length of the roast chart in terms of roast duration in minutes.
By clicking the Time field, you can adjust the time.
-
Y-axis: The Y-axis shows the temperature scale.
By clicking the Minimum and Maximum fields, you can adjust the minimum and maximum temperatures.
The same applies to the Rate of Rise (RoR); by clicking the Minimum and Maximum fields, you can adjust the minimum and maximum values of RoR.
-
X-axis: The X-axis shows the length of the roast chart in terms of roast duration in minutes.
- Once you have entered the values for both axes, click Save to finalize the changes.
Tips and Recommendations
- It's best to keep your X-axis range longer than your roast duration. Going past that range may cause issues.
-
Please keep in mind that the minimum and maximum values of Rate of Rise will be affected by the Time expression setting.

- We recommend setting the Maximum Temperature based on the hottest temperature measurement monitored from your roasting chart.
- We recommend setting the Minimum Temperature based on the lowest Bean temperature.
