Overview Instructions Setting up the Rate of Rise setup Enabling and disabling the Rate of Rise for the measurements

Overview

This article covers the fundamentals of Rate of Rise (RoR), including how to enable, disable, and reset it within your measurements. The Rate of Rise (RoR) is the speed at which the temperature of your beans is increasing. It’s measured over a specific time, usually between 30 and 60 seconds.

Instructions

Setting up the Rate of Rise setup

  1. Log in to Roasting Intelligence.
  2. Navigate toPreferences and select Roasting > Rate of Rise (RoR).
  3. Choose between Recommended, Sensitive, and Noise smoothing, then select your preferred Time expression unit.
  4. Click Save to apply the changes.

💡 Tips and recommendations:

  • We suggest using the recommended (standard) RoR curve setting.
  • The time expression doesn't affect the RoR calculation, but only shows your preferred measurement unit for temperature increments (default: 60s).

Enabling and disabling the Rate of Rise for the measurements

⚠️ Ensure you have added the appropriate measurements as specified in your roasting machine's setup instructions.
