Overview

This article explains how to dial in with Cropster Cafe. "Dialing in" is the process of fine-tuning the espresso machine and coffee parameters to achieve consistent, high-quality shots.

In Cropster, you can dial in two ways (both accessible via the Location Dashboard):

  1. Dial in manually
  2. Dial in on connected espresso machines

Instructions

Dialing in manually

The Location Dashboard serves as the default landing page for Baristas and Head Baristas when clicking Cafe.

  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar.
  2. Navigate to Cafe on the main menu bar.
  3. You will be directed to the Operations Fleet Dashboard. Switch to the Locations Dashboard.
  4. Select your Location.

  5. Click Log an Espresso.

  6. You can log an espresso entry manually for the selected location.
  7. Enter your Brew parameters.
  8. Categorize this entry as a Test or a Brew.
  9. Click Log brew.

Logging brews via the Recipe cards

💡 Good to Know

  • La Marzocco: You can link recipes directly to specific machine buttons.
  • BrewBeacon: Recipes are linked to individual Groupheads.
  • You can assign multiple buttons or groupheads to the same recipe for consistent logging across your machine.

  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar.
  2. Navigate to Cafe on the main menu bar. Switch to the Location Dashboard.
  3. Select your Location.
  4. Click the ">" (chevron) next to your espresso machine.
  5. You will be directed to the Brew tab on the details page. (Optional) Click the Edit icon to adjust your brew parameters.
⚠️  Any edits to your Brew parameters will trigger a re-evaluation. If you switch to a different recipe, your brew will be measured against that recipe's specific ranges.
  6. Switch to the Recipes tab. Link your machine’s groupheads to the recipe. Tap a grey button to turn it green; any brew from that grouphead will now be logged under this recipe.
  7. Click Create a new recipe or Link recipe to link existing recipes.
