Overview
This article will explain how to set up your Lab with Cropster.
Setting up your Lab in Cropster
If you have already recorded a score, the initial setup page will no longer appear.
Customizing the settings
Edit your evaluators, labs, and sheets anytime via the Lab settings modules:
- Log in to the online platform C-sar.

Navigate to the
Gear icon and select Lab settings.
- You can customize the following settings:
Descriptors
Custom Descriptors
You can manage and enhance your custom descriptors in several ways:
- Edit and review the custom descriptors.
- Rename the descriptors.
- Adjust the default setting to either positive or negative using the toggle button.
- Click +Add custom descriptor to create a new one.
- To add a new descriptor used during cupping to your permanent lexicon, simply click the green Accept check mark.
The Custom descriptors tab is organized into two primary sections:
The Unreviewed Descriptors section
This section lists all descriptors used during cupping.
To improve your workflow, you can perform the following actions:
- Rename
: Merge
: Move to the general comments
: Delete
: Accept: To ensure a specific descriptor appears as a suggestion during the analysis, simply click the green checkmark to accept it.
The Reviewed Descriptors section
This section lists both reviewed and global descriptors that will appear as suggestions during your analysis.
To improve your workflow, you can perform the following action:

The Global Descriptors section
This section lists all global descriptors.

- All descriptors

Evaluators
Evaluators are users with "Enter cupping data" permissions.
- Internal Evaluators: Must have their own Cropster login to use the Cropster Cup app. Designating a user as an evaluator will automatically link their name to all their existing evaluations.
- Guest Evaluators: Can be created to record scores on their behalf using the online bulk evaluation feature.

The Evaluators tab is divided into two distinct sections:
Guest evaluators
Guest evaluators can be added and managed either from this section or during the setup of a cupping session.
To improve your workflow, you can perform the following action:
- Merge a Guest evaluator with an existing user.
- Remove Guest evaluators from the list to prevent them from appearing when creating a new cupping session. Deleting a Guest evaluator will not affect your historical cupping data or previous sessions.
Evaluators
This section displays all users authorized to enter cupping data.
To use Cropster Cup, evaluators must have their own login and the Use Cropster Cup permission enabled in their settings.
Labs
You can perform the following actions on this tab:
- Manage multiple Labs to track where your sensorial analyses take place. Click +Add and enter a name to create a new Lab location.

Streamline the number of your Labs and remove any that are no longer needed. Click on the
Delete icon to remove Labs.

Categories
You can perform the following actions on this tab:
- Create analysis categories to tag and organize your cupping sessions. Simply click +Add category and enter a name to get started.
- Streamline the number of your Categories and remove any that are no longer needed. Click on the
Delete icon to remove Categories.

Cupping sheets
Select different sensorial sheets for your analysis and use the eye icon to view a sample of each.
