Garanti Focha (with Beijer PLC) - Roasting Intelligence setup

Overview
This guide explains how to connect your Garanti Focha (with Beijer PLC) roasting machine to Roasting Intelligence. The article covers hardware requirements, connecting your machine, and setting up the software.
This integration is currently in the Beta stage of development, and these setup steps are pending manufacturer verification. Due to hardware variances across different machine models, performance may vary and you may encounter minor bugs.
To access this integration, register for our Beta program. Please report any unexpected behavior directly to Technical Support.

Requirements

Hardware connection
- Plug the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your Garanti Focha.
- Plug the other end directly into your computer or local network switch.
Setup
Configure a static IP address
Because you are connecting the roaster directly to your computer, you must assign a static IP address. Follow the appropriate steps for your system:
Windows 10 & 11
- Open Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center (or Network and Internet > Network Sharing Center).
- Click Change adapter settings.
- Find your machine's Network connection. Tip: Unplug and reconnect the Ethernet cable to see which icon changes.
- Right-click that Local Area Connection and click Properties.
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
- Choose Use the following IP Address.
- Enter exactly these details:
- IP Address: You can find the current IP address on the roaster screen. Copy the first three blocks of your that IP address, but change the fourth block to 42. Example: 192.168.1.42
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Leave all other fields empty and click OK to save.
macOS
- Open System Settings > Network.
- Find your machine's Network connection. Tip: Unplug and reconnect the Ethernet cable to see which icon changes.
- Click Details…
- Open the TCP/IP menu and change Configure IPv4 to Manually.
- Enter exactly these details:
- IP Address: You can find the current IP address on the roaster screen. Copy the first three blocks of your that IP address, but change the fourth block to 42. Example: 192.168.1.42
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Click OK to save.
Install Roasting Intelligence

Download the appropriate custom version of Roasting Intelligence for your system:
- Windows: x64 version ending in .exe
- macOS: version ending in .dmg
- Linux: version ending in .rpm or .deb
- Complete the installation process by following the steps provided.
- Double-click the Cropster Roasting Intelligence icon on your desktop.
- Click the Login with browser button.
- You will be directed to the sign-in page in your browser. Enter your email and password, then click the green Log in button. Use the same credentials that you use to access our online platform.

Connect the machine
Before configuring your roast machine in Roasting Intelligence, add it to your account, then follow the steps below:
- In the top-left corner of the screen, click on Preferences > Machine > Configuration.
- Click on the Machine drop-down menu (a) at the top of the window and select your roasting machine.
- Click the + Add connector button (b) to choose your connector from the drop-down menu.

- Select Garanti PLC from the list, then click Select:
- Click the
Gear icon next to the added connector:
- Enter the IP address that should be visible on your roaster's display. Default value is 192.168.1.1. Click OK to confirm.

- Navigate to the Measurements tab. All supported measurements will be displayed.
- To activate the measurements, click the toggles next to every measurement in the list. If the toggle is green, the measurement is enabled:

- For every measurement, click on the accompanying drop-down menu labeled Select source … and select Garanti PLC.

You can change the order of the measurements by moving the
drag and drop icons.
- Click Save in the bottom right corner of the Preferences window to save the changes.
After saving the changes, restart Roasting Intelligence. If the setup was successful, you will see the data from supported measurements in the bottom-right part of the screen.
Troubleshooting
"No source connected" or missing live measurements
- Did you enter the correct IP address for your roast machine in the connector settings?
- The first three digit blocks of the static IP address and the machine IP address must match. The fourth block is different.
- Have you downloaded and installed the correct version of Roasting Intelligence linked in this guide?
- Ensure that your computer is connected to the same network as the roaster, and that the Ethernet cable is securely seated.
