What is Cafe Telemetry?
Telemetry in Cropster Cafe refers to capturing and analyzing real-time data from your espresso machine, which is then presented in a clear and understandable format.
You can explore various sections and pages within Cafe Telemetry for a comprehensive analysis of your espresso machine data:
- Recipes: Overview of all recipes.
- Brews: Overview of all brews.
- Radar: Overview of all connected machines.
By clicking on the dropdown next to the Go to button, you can navigate to the following reports:
- Brew compare report
- Consistency report
What are the Telemetry Insights?
Telemetry Insights provides a comprehensive overview page with essential information about each connected espresso machine.
It combines a granular view of production, brew success, and grouphead usage (and flushes) on one machine.
When used alongside Cafe Radar, Telemetry Insights provides a detailed understanding of the specific locations and times at which issues arise.
The Telemetry Insights overview page
Utilizing filters
The The filter icon indicates the criteria you can customize to display specific data:
💡 The filters are displayed by default for your convenience. To hide them, simply click the Filter icon again.
You can utilize the following filters:
- Location: Only the locations that have been assigned the Cafe attribute during their initial setup will be displayed.
- Espresso Machine: Only the espresso machines that are assigned to the chosen location will be visible.
- Date range:
- Last week
- Current month
- Last month
- Last 6 months
- Last year
Please note that a larger time frame selected can lead to increased loading times.
After selecting your desired display options, simply click the green Apply filters button to view the customized data.
If you apply filters and navigate away from the page, your selected filters will remain in place when you return, allowing for a seamless experience.
💡By selecting the Reset filters option, you can clear any previously applied filters and start fresh with new criteria.
The connected espresso machine details
Telemetry Insights provide a comprehensive overview of each connected espresso machine, displaying essential information such as:
- General details
- Status: Online or Offline
- Connected via: La Marzocco Pro App or BrewBeacon
- Location
- Station
- Time zone
- Linked recipes
- Groupheads/Buttons
Additional navigation options are available from this section:
- Selecting the Manage connection option in the General details section will direct you to the Equipment details page. In this section, you can disconnect and reconnect the machine as necessary and link additional recipes to it.
- Selecting the Go to Task Report option in the General details section will direct you to the Task Report specifically filtered for the espresso machine you have chosen.
- Selecting the Change Recipe linking option in the Linked Recipes section will direct you to the Recipe tab on the details page of the selected espresso machine. Here, you can link the recipes to Groupheads/Buttons and also create new recipes.

This section will provide an overview of the key components found on the Telemetry Insights overview page:

The KPI cards
The KPI cards provide the following information:
- Brews in range | Brews out of range | (Brews) Not evaluated
- Total Brew distribution across groupheads | 1 | 2 | 3
- Total Brews | Total Flushes
The Daily Brew Times scatter plot
The assessment of brews that fall within or outside the acceptable range on the scatter plot is determined solely by the brewing time.
This scatter plot offers a comprehensive view of the daily brewing times for your selected brews, illustrating the brewing duration throughout the day.
It enables you to monitor the Brews and identify which ones may require adjustments for optimal performance.
- Brews indicated in green fall within the acceptable brew time range.
- Brews shown in red exceed the designated brew time limits.
- Brews marked in orange have not been assessed for evaluation.
💡By clicking on the "Go to Brews overview" option, you can seamlessly navigate to the Brews table (Brews overview page).
Brew success and production over time
The Brew Success and Production Over Time graph illustrates the number of brews that fall within and outside the acceptable range relative to total production over time.
This visualization allows you to quickly pinpoint periods (whether days or weeks) that excel or lag in overall production and brew success.
💡This enables you to quickly pinpoint areas that may benefit from additional training and improvement.
By selecting the checkbox labeled "Show per weekday," you can view the total number of Brews along with their corresponding time aggregates for each day of the week.
Grouphead usage over time
This graph illustrates the usage distribution of each Grouphead over specified time intervals. Each Grouphead is represented by a distinct color, with the percentage of production for each Grouphead indicated.
Brews and flushes over time
This graph provides a visual representation of the total number of Brews and flushes conducted across all Groupheads over a specified period.
- The green bar indicates a Brew.
- The blue bar indicates a Flush.
The Grouphead table
The Grouphead table provides a detailed summary of the data for the selected timeframe, allowing you to analyze key metrics effectively:
- Average brew pulses

Average brew time

Total brews and the percentage of brews on this Grouphead to the total on the machine

Brews in range, in absolute number and percentage of in range to total (per Grouphead)
It provides the numerical value as well as the percentage value.
