What are cupping scores?

Cupping scores serve as a baseline to assess the coffee's quality. During cupping, you can assign coffee scores as a standardised way to evaluate a coffee's sensory characteristics.

Tips and Recommendations

Visit the Specialty Coffee Association website to learn more about the cupping scores.

Entering the results

Once you've set up your session and customized it to your preferences, you can start entering your cupping results.

Tips and Recommendations

Use the Group by setting to organize your table by shared values - Samples or Evaluators. Grouping helps you quickly review and compare results by each sample or evaluator, keeping your data structured and easy to read.

  1. When clicking on a set descriptor, you can add perception (negative or positive) and intensity.
The greyed-out numbers in each field show the allowed value range. For example, "-3-"3" means that the value must be greater than or equal to -3, and less than or equal to 3.
  2. When clicking on General Descriptors, you can start typing and adding more descriptors.
  3. Click Save analysis.
  4. Your session will be saved under a QS-xxxx (Quality Session) ID tag.

Did you know?

One QS (Quality Session) consists of several QCs (Quality Control).

QC means Quality Control for a single lot. Once the results are entered either via Cropster Cup or the bulk evaluation interface, make sure you close the session. A closed session cannot be altered via Cropster Cup anymore.
