- Phidget cables (e.g. 3002_0, 3003_0, etc.)
Adding measurements in Roasting Intelligence
The Differential Air Pressure Sensor Phidget setup can be used to track the following measurements in Roasting Intelligence:
- Drum pressure [Pa]

Airflow [%]
⚠️ Strict Usage Limitations:
Phidgets has explicitly advised that this hardware is not suitable for reading Gas or Gas pressure. It is engineered strictly for reading Air measurements only.
Utilizing this hardware for gas-related readings is a severe misuse of the equipment and poses an extreme risk of accidents and/or total equipment destruction.
Differential Air Pressure Sensor Phidget Installation

Via VINT Hub HUB0001_0 (or HUB0000_0 depending on your setup)
- Connect the Differential Air Pressure Sensor Phidget to any port of the VINT Hub with the Phidgets cable.
- Connect the VINT Hub to your computer with the USB cable.
Via Phidget InterfaceKit 8/8/8 (Phidget 1018)
- Connect the Differential Air Pressure Sensor Phidget into the InterfaceKit's "Analog Inputs" port (0 through 7) with the Phidget cable.
- Connect the InterfaceKit to your computer with the USB cable.
Roasting Intelligence Setup
Installing the Roasting Intelligence software
- Download the Beta version of Roasting Intelligence.
- Complete the installation process by following the steps provided.
- Download the Phidget driver.
- Double-click the Cropster icon on your desktop to access Roasting Intelligence.

Click the green Login with the browser button.
- You will be directed to the C-sar browser.

Enter your Username* and Password* and click the green Sign in with password button.
Use the same credentials that you use to access the online platform C-sar.
Establishing a connection to the device
The images below are for reference and may vary slightly from your screen.
Important details to keep in mind:
- Before you start configuring your roast machine, ensure that you have added it via the online platform C-sar.
- Only click Save after you've completed all settings in Roasting Intelligence.
- Select
Preferences > Machine > Configuration - To choose the Roast machine, click on the dropdown menu in the Machine section.
- Click the + Add connector option to choose your connector from the dropdown list.
- Select Phidgets Differential Air Pressure Sensor from the dropdown.

Click Select to add the connector.
- Click on the Gear icon in the Connector setup section to open and configure more settings.

From the Phidget hub dropdown menu, select whether you use a...
- VINT Hub
- InterfaceKit

⚠️ This step is exclusive to the wireless VINT HUB (e.g., HUB5000):
Enter the following details:- Hostname/IP address: This can be identified after connecting the Wireless VINT HUB to a network.
- Port: 5661

⚠️ This is only relevant if you previously selected Phidgets Differential Air Pressure Sensor [%] during the “Add Connector” process (Step 4).
The following information will be pre-selected:- Pressure at 0% [Pa]: 0.0
- Pressure at 100% [Pa]: 2000.0

Click OK.
- Navigate to the Machine > Measurements tab. All supported measurements will be displayed.
- To activate the measurements, simply click the green toggle button.
- Enable the desired measurements and choose Phidgets Differential Air Pressure Sensor as the connector type.

Select the Type of your Differential Air Pressure Sensor:
- Phidget 1136
- Phidget 1137
- Phidget 1138

Under Hub port, select the port where your Differential Air Pressure Sensor Phidget is connected to the Hub port:
- VINT Hub: The Hub port refers to the port on the VINT Hub. For example. If the Phidget is connected to Hub port 0, select 0.
- InterfaceKit: The Hub port refers to the InterfaceKit's Analog Inputs (e.g, ports). For example, if the Phidget is connected to Analog Input 7, select 7.
- (Optional) Change the order of the measurements by using the

Drag and Drop icon and move it into position. -
Click Save to finalize the changes.

Restart Roasting Intelligence. If the setup was successful, you will see the temperature values displayed on the right-hand side of the screen following the restart.

Troubleshooting
If you cannot see the measurement, please verify the following:
- Is the Phidget 1136/1137/1138 connected to the VINT Hub/InterfaceKit?
- Is the VINT Hub/InterfaceKit connected to the computer?
- Have you selected the correct Hub port?
- Is the Phidgets22 Driver installed?
- Mac only: Has the Phidgets Driver been enabled on the Mac's Security & Privacy settings?
