Setting up the Drum speed control measurement
Cropster's Drum speed control allows you to regulate the drum speed directly within RI.
If the Gas control measurement is not shown in the Preferences in RI, it must be added before it can be set up.
The following information is relevant only if your roaster has been successfully connected to the computer you have configured.
If you encounter issues, please refer to your machine's setup manual available on our Helpdesk.
By following the steps below you can set up the Drum Speed Control:
- Open the Roasting Intelligence (RI).
- Navigate to the
Preferences on the bottom left side of the screen.
- Select the Machine > Configurations tab.
- To choose the Roast machine, click on the dropdown menu in the Machine section.
📚 To view your roast machine in the list, make sure to add it via the online platform C-sar beforehand. -
By clicking on the + Add connector option, you can choose your connector from the available options in the drop-down list. You need to select the relevant connector from the dropdown.
- Click Select to add the connector.
-
Navigate to the Machine > Controls tab. To activate the Slider controls, simply click the green toggle button.
- Scroll down to the Drum speed control and select the connector option representing your machine.
- Click Save to finalize the changes.
Once you have set up a Profile with a reference using Drum speed control, the Profile can also be replayed.
This means Cropster automatically reproduces the Drum speed settings applied during the creation of the Profile based on Bean temperature.
The Drum speed control slider
The Drum speed control slider is in the bottom-right corner next to the machine's measurements:
Roasting with Drum speed control
Start your roast as you usually would in the RI.
Rather than making manual adjustments to Drum speed on the roast machine's control board, you can conveniently utilize the Control slider located on the right-hand side of the Roasting Intelligence (RI).
- For small drum speed adjustments, use the - and + buttons.
- For big adjustments, use the Control bar by dragging and dropping the slider.
- For instant adjustments, click the percentage values shown on the Drum Speed Control bar to instantly adjust the drum speed value accordingly.
- Input values directly and receive immediate feedback as you adjust the Control sliders.
- Detach the Control sliders by clicking on the
Detach sidebar button.
Replaying a roast
As soon as you have recorded one roast with the Drum speed control bar, set this roast as the reference to enable Replay Assist.
