Managing Profile groups

In this article you will learn about Profile groups, and how to manage them.

What is a Profile group?

Profile groups allow you to define products or product components in terms of more than one Profile.

Example: Depending on the ordered amount of coffee, you roast full batches and half batches. For a consistent end result, you have developed one roast profile per batch size. By grouping them into a Profile group, you see at a glance how much of a specific product you have produced.

A Profile group is a set of different profiles that all create the same product or product component (for post-roast blends).

Profile groups are required when setting up and scheduling post-roast blends (all tiers) and/or when converting orders into roast schedules (for Professional and higher tiers).

Creating a Profile group

  1. From our online platform C-sar, go to Roasts > Profile groups.
  2. Click the +Add new profile group button top right.
  3. Enter a Group name.
  4. Add Group notes (optional)
  5. Select Associated profiles to be linked to the Profile group.
  6. Set the Default profile.
The default profile is the profile selected initially when scheduling a post-roast blend or ordered products.
Note: The profile selected first is automatically set as the default profile.
  7. Click the Save button.

Note: An existing profile group can also be assigned from the profile creation page.

Profile groups on the Production report

Once you have created Profile groups, you may track your production by Profile group via the Production report. By tracking your Profile groups you:

  • Know exactly how much of a particular product or product component you have produced.

  • Allows better planning of future green coffee purchases when you need to replace one Profile group in your product.

To access the production report's data regarding Profile groups, please try the following:

  1. From our online platform C-sar, go to Reports > Production report > By profile group tab.
  2. Enter the date range you'd like to take a look at.
Note: Click on the start date or end date fields to prompt a calendar to choose amongst pre-defined date ranges or enter a custom date.
  3. Enter the unit of time you would like to see the average for (per week, etc.).

  4. Click Apply filters to generate the report.
