How to add a measurement to a machine within Roasting Intelligence (Cropster Connector setup)

This article describes how to set up an additional readout via a Cropster Connector (=Phidget). 




Adding the measurement to a machine


First, you need to add the additional measurement to your machine online.:

  1. Log in to the online platform C-sar.
  2. Navigate to the Gear icon on the top right side of the page.
  3. Select Machines. You will be directed to the Machines overview page
  4. Click the EditIcon (1)-png-1 Edit icon on the right side of the page at the roast machine you would like to add the measurement for.

  5. Scroll down to the Measurements section and click on +Add measurement

  6. Click Update machine

Setting up the new measurement


Once the new measurement is enabled, it needs to be set up within Roasting Intelligence (RI).:

  1. Connect the probe wires to a free channel on your Cropster Connector. 
  2. Start or restart Roasting Intelligence (RI) to sync the new measurement. 
  3. Navigate to gear-png-2 Preferences > Machine > Configuration tab.

  4. Depending on the type of your probes, choose one the following options from the dropdown: 
    • Temperature sensor K/J/E/T-type thermocouples (Phidget 1048)
    • Resistance temperature detectors (Pt100/Pt1000 RTDs) (Phidget 1046)
  5. Assign the correct Channel and Probe Type
  6. Save your changes. 

Congratulations! You are now ready to add a measurement to a machine within Roasting Intelligence (Cropster Connector setup)
