How to set the RoR within Roasting Intelligence (RI)

Rate of Rise (RoR) setup


By following the steps below you can set up the Rate of Rise (RoR) within RI

  1. Log in to Roasting Intelligence (RI).
  2. Navigate to the gear-png-2 Preferences on the bottom left side of the screen. 
  3. Select Roasting > Rate of Rise (RoR).

  4. Choose between Recommended, Sensitive, Noise smoothing, then select your preferred Time expression unit.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes. 

We suggest using the recommended (standard) RoR curve setting.

The time expression doesn't affect the RoR calculation, but only shows your preferred measurement unit for temperature increments (default: 60s).

Disable/enable RoR for a measurement

By following the steps below you can enable/disable the Rate of Rise (RoR)

  1. Log in to Roasting Intelligence (RI).
  2. Navigate to the gear-png-2 Preferences on the bottom left side of the screen. 
  3. Select Machine > Configuration
  4. Scroll down to the Measurements section
  5. Click on the respective checkbox next to Rate of Rise at the measurement you would like to enable RoR.

  6. Click Save to apply the changes.

Troubleshooting


The issue

The Rate of Rise (RoR) has been turned on, but it still does not display from your chart mid-roast.


The solution

By following the instructions below you can reset the Rate of Rise (RoR) to its default ranges:

  1. Log in to the Roasting Intelligence (RI).
  2. Navigate to the gear-png-2 Preferences on the bottom left side of the screen. 
  3. Select Roasting > Charts and comments.

  4. Click the Reset chart axes button.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.
