      Coffeetool Manual R-models (from September 2015 onwards) with Gas Control, Airflow Control, and Drum Speed Control measurements - Roasting Intelligence (RI) Setup

      This manual shows you how to setup Gas, Airflow, and Drum Speed Control on Coffeetool machines manufactured from September 2015 onwards to Cropster's Roasting Intelligence.


      This machine integration is in the process of being transitioned from a Beta version of the Roasting Intelligence (RI) software, to the newer RI5, and currently, requires a set up on RI4.

      If you notice any inconsistencies in the following manual that prevent you from connecting your machine, please contact Customer Support and we will help you get set up.

      • Allen Bradley Micro 820 PLC.
      • Read & Control of Gas, Airflow, and Drum Speed.
      • Can be controlled from the HMI and PC at the same time.
      Manufactured June 2019-June 2021
      • Schneider M241 Series PLC.
      • Read only.
      Manufactured June 2021 onwards 
      • Schneider M241 Series PLC.
      • Read & Control of Gas, Airflow, and Drum Speed.
      • Requires switching between HMI control mode/PC control mode.

      Roasting Intelligence Setup 

      Installing the Roasting Intelligence software 

      1. Download RI.

      2. Complete the installation process by following the steps provided.

      3. Double-click the Cropster icon on your desktop to access RI.

      4. Enter your username and password.
        Use the same login information that you use to access the online platform C-sar.

      5. Click the Login button.

      Establishing a connection to the machine 

      1. Navigate to Account > Preferences > Machine tab.
      2. Select the Roast machine you would like to connect from the dropdown menu (e.g. Coffeetool R15).
      3. Select Coffeetool PLC from the dropdown for all measurements.
      4. Click Save. 
      5. The RI requires a restart to apply the settings.
