This article explains how to create and add custom varieties to your Green Inventory and Samples.
Creating custom varieties is available for the following products:
- Roast
- Origin
- Lab

Since the level of information regarding green coffee is continuously increasing, Cropster helps you to be able to improve all areas of traceability.
Cropster has a repository of the most common varieties, but from now on you can also add less-known varieties to your lots and samples.
Adding custom varieties to the Green Inventory
By following the steps below you can add custom varieties to your Green Inventory:
- Log into the online platform C-sar
- Navigate onto the Green Inventory overview page.
- By clicking on Add lot you are able to add new lots one by one (One) or in bulk (Many) to your Inventory.
💡 You can add custom varieties to existing lots as well.
📚 Learn how to manage your Inventory and how to add and edit lots. - If you can't see Varieties, you can enable this field by clicking on Customize fields.
- If you don't find the variety you would like to add to your lots on the provided list, you can type the name in the Varieties field.
💡 You need to make sure that you are adding the correct name of the variety to this field. Once you added a new variety to the list of Varieties, it can't be removed. - Click on Add and save the variety to the list and add it to your lots.
- The variety you manually added will be saved to the list of varieties in case you need to add the same variety to another lots.
- Several varieties can be added to the lots at the same time.
Adding custom varieties to existing lots
- Navigate to the Inventory overview page, select PG number and click on
Edit button. 
- Navigate through the steps of adding custom varieties to the Inventory.
- Finalize the changes by clicking on Update lot.
Adding custom varieties to Samples
Samples are only available for Professional and higher tiers.
The same workflow applies to adding custom varieties to new and existing samples.
The Sample overview page is available on the main menu bar in the online platform C-sar.

FAQs
Can I remove the added varieties?
Yes, you can remove the added varieties. You need to click on the x next to the name of the variety and you are able to remove it from the lots and samples. If you wish to edit an existing lot or sample, you need to finalize the change by clicking on Update lot/Update sample. 
Although you can remove the variety from the lots and samples, it won't be removed from the list of varieties.
