This article will explain what is Rate of Rise (RoR), how to enable and disable the RoR for the measurements and also how to reset the Rate of Rise (RoR).
What is the Rate of Rise (RoR)?
The Rate of Rise (RoR) is the speed at which the temperature of your beans is increasing.
It’s measured over a specific period of time, usually between 30 or 60 seconds.
The Rate of Rise (RoR) setup
By following the steps below you can set up the Rate of Rise (RoR) within RI:
- Log in to Roasting Intelligence (RI).
- Navigate to the
Preferences on the bottom left side of the screen.
- Select Roasting > Rate of Rise (RoR).
- Choose between Recommended, Sensitive, Noise smoothing, then select your preferred Time expression unit.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
We suggest using the recommended (standard) RoR curve setting.
The time expression doesn't affect the RoR calculation, but only shows your preferred measurement unit for temperature increments (default: 60s).
