This article will explain how to create, update and also use the Equipment Stations.
Why use Equipment Stations?
Equipment Stations group multiple pieces of equipment often used together to brew (e.g. grinder, espresso machine, scale).
💡 Using Equipment Stations is not mandatory for Recipes to work.
By using Equipment Stations you can:
- Assign and update a Reference Brew per Equipment Station for the same Recipe.
- Set a Reference to a location, so Cropster will automatically create default stations of each of the locations you use.
If a Recipe is assigned to multiple Equipment Stations, the Brew logging parameters (based on the Reference Brew) will be shown directly from the Recipe card under each specific Equipment Station.
What do we recommend?
Utilize Equipment Stations to organize equipment that is frequently used together to brew.
You can create an Equipment Station per brewing method (e.g. Espresso, Manual or Batch brews) and group the brewing equipment to each Station.
💡If you have multiple espresso or filter brewing stations in one location, it is recommended to create a separate Equipment Station for each type of brewing method.
If an Equipment Station contains both manual brewing equipment and an espresso machine, any manual brew (such as V60) logged on this station will also be displayed on the espresso machine's detail page.
💡 Following our recommendation to create Equipment Stations as mentioned above helps prevent any overlap or confusion between different brewing methods and equipment within the same Equipment Station.
Setting up Equipment Stations
Creating a new Equipment Station
- Log in to the online platform C-sar.
- Navigate to the Cafe on the main menu bar.
- Select Equipment. You will be directed to the Equipment overview page.
- Navigate to the Stations tab.
- Click on Add station to create more stations.

Enter the following details:
* is indicating mandatory fields- *Name
- *Location
- Click on Create station.
Updating an existing Equipment Station
By following the steps below you can update an existing Equipment Station:
- Complete steps 1-4 written above.
💡 If you have never used stations before, you will see "Default stations" in the list. One per location that you have a Recipe for. - Click the Edit button corresponding to the station you would like to edit.
- You can edit the following details:
* is indicating a mandatory field
- *Name: You can change the name of the station (e.g. Batch Brew, Espresso Bar, etc.).
- *Location: Only the equipment in the location of the selected station will show up.

- Equipment: Select the equipment you want to group in this station.
6. Click the Update station button to finalize the changes.
You cannot change the location of an Equipment Station.
