      Creating Equipment Stations

      This article explains how to create, update and also use the equipment stations.

      Why use equipment stations?


      The equipment stations group multiple pieces of equipment often used together to brew (e.g. grinder, espresso machine, scale, etc.). You can assign and update a reference brew per equipment station for the same recipe.

      When a recipe is assigned more than one station, the brew parameters (based on the reference) will display directly from the Recipe card under a specific equipment station.

      Using equipment stations is not mandatory for Recipes to work. However, we use equipment stations to set a reference to a location, so we automatically create Default stations for each of the locations you use.

      How should the equipment stations be used?


      We recommend using stations in a manner that will group pieces of equipment often used together to brew. To do this, you can create a station per brewing method (e.g. Espresso, Manual brews, Batch brews, etc.), and group the brewing equipment to each station.

      💡 If you have multiple espresso or filter brewing stations in one location, we recommend creating a separate station for each.

      If a station has e.g. a combination of manual brewing equipment and an espresso machine, a manual brew (e.g. V60) logged on this station will also show up on the espresso machine's detail page. Creating stations as per our above recommendation avoids this.

      Setting up equipment stations

      Creating a new equipment station

      1. Log into the online platform C-sar.
      2. Navigate to the Cafe on the main menu bar.
      3. Select Equipment > Stations. 
      4. Click on Add station to create more stations.

      5. Enter the following details:
        * is indicating mandatory fields

        • Name*
        • Location*
      6. Click on Create station to add a new equipment station. 

      Updating an existing equipment station

      1. Log into the online platform C-sar.
      2. Navigate to the Cafe on the main menu bar.
      3. Select Equipment > Stations. 
        💡 f you have never used stations before, you will see "Default stations" in the list; one per location that you have a recipe for.
      4. Click the EditIcon (1)-png-2 Edit button corresponding to the station you would like to edit.

      5. You can edit the following details:
        * is indicating a mandatory field
        • Name*: You can change the name of the station (e.g. Batch Brew, Espresso Bar, etc.).
        • Equipment: Select the equipment you want to group in this station. Only the equipment in the location of the selected station will show up.

      6. Click the Update station button to finalize the changes.

      You cannot change the location of a station.
