How to set the Rate of Rise (RoR) within Roasting Intelligence (RI)

This article will explain what is Rate of Rise (RoR), how to enable and disable the RoR for the measurements and also how to reset the Rate of Rise (RoR).

What is the Rate of Rise (RoR)?

The Rate of Rise (RoR) is the speed at which the temperature of your beans is increasing.

It’s measured over a specific time, usually between 30 and 60 seconds.

By following the steps below you can set up the Rate of Rise (RoR) within RI

  1. Log in to Roasting Intelligence (RI).

  4. Choose between Recommended, Sensitive, and Noise smoothing, then select your preferred Time expression unit.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes.

We suggest using the recommended (standard) RoR curve setting.

The time expression doesn't affect the RoR calculation, but only shows your preferred measurement unit for temperature increments (default: 60s).
