How to export and import roasts

This article explains how to transfer roasts from one Cropster account to another.


Exporting roasts

We advise that you export reference roasts or high priority roasts as this process will be time consuming if you have numerous roasts to export.

If on Google Chrome, open Incognito window to login into one of the Cropster accounts and use the regular browser to login into the other. This will allow you to be logged into two different Cropster accounts simultaneously on the same browser.


By following the steps below you can export roasts:

  1. Login to the online platform C-sar .
  2. Navigate to Roasts on the main menu bar.
  3. You will be directed to the Roasts overview page
  4. Open the roast you would like to export by clicking on the PR number
  5. You will be directed to the Roast detail page.
  6. Click on the green Export button on the top right side of the page.

  7. From the dropdown menu click the Roast curve option. 
  8. The Roast curve will be saved onto your computer. 

Importing roasts

By following the steps below you can import roasts:

  1. Log into the Cropster account you would like to import into. 
  2. Navigate to the Roasts on the main menu bar. 
  3. You will be directed to the Roasts overview page
  4. Click on the green Add button on the right side of the page. 
  5. Select Roast (Curve Designer). 
  6. Scroll down to the Roasting curve section.
  7. Select Upload curve.

  8. Choose the .crc file you previously downloaded.
  9. If the import of the file was successful, you will see a message confirming the upload.
    💡 Make sure that you are importing a roast with a Bean temperature curve.

  10. Enter the following information:
    • Roast name
    • Machine
    • Green lot
    • Start weight
      💡 Upon saving the roast, the Green lot's weight will be adjusted according to the value entered in the "Start weight" field. If you do not wish to impact the selected lot's weight, set the Start and End weights to "0".

  11. Click on Create Roast.
