Configuring Origin Settings

This allows you to set default values to match the workflow for your producing and exporting business.

Note: During Origin Onboarding several default values will be automatically entered into the Origin Settings page.

General

These settings apply to the Origin application.

Crop year

  • Enter the year(s) for the current harvest season.
  • This information will be attached to each batch of coffee when it is registered.

Make sure you update this value every year!

Weight units

These are the default units you use to record the weight of your coffee. (i.e. kg, lb, quintal, 60kg bag etc.)

  • Received weight unit - is the unit you use to record coffee delivered by your suppliers, this is before processing
  • Stored weight unit - is the unit you use to record coffee entered into your warehouse, this is after processing and before dry-milling
  • Green weight unit - is the unit you use prepare your coffee for export, this is after dry-milling

Processing

Reception information

  • Received state - is the state of coffee delivered by your suppliers, this is before processing (i.e. 'cherry')
  • Currency - this is the monetary unit you use to pay your suppliers

Quality Format

The Quality format controls which options show up under the dropdown part field on batches.

You can set the define the parts as default values below, or else choose them every time you create a new batch.

Define the parts

Use this table to set the default values for when you Add batches.  These are only default values and can be changed when you Add batches.

The fields you can control are these:

  • Part (required)
  • Price per unit
  • Process (required)
  • Percent* (only for Separation by percent mode)
  • Pile
  • Project

You cannot add parts when No separation is selected.

You cannot change the default parts when Separation by supplier is selected.

Yield factor

  • Select how the relationship between coffee states should be displayed.
  • You may display as either a Ratio or a Percentage.

Error tolerance

  • Define the tolerance between actual amounts and estimates.
  • Highlight actual amounts if the deviation from the estimate is bigger or smaller than this value.
  • The highlights are visible on the Batch list and Batch details pages.
